Who we are
Founded in Denmark in 2005 by Anne Dorthe Hjort and Michael Severin, Nature Planet was built on a simple yet powerful vision: to create a company that not only offers high-quality products but also makes a positive impact on the world.
From the beginning, we’ve woven social responsibility into the fabric of our business. We proudly support Fair Trade products and partner with PLAN International to champion children’s rights and promote gender equality in developing countries. Over time, our commitment to meaningful causes grew. We joined forces with Save the Orangutan, a remarkable organization fighting to protect critically endangered orangutans while restoring rainforests. More recently, we’ve extended our efforts to support the Red Panda Network, which works tirelessly to save red pandas by conserving their natural habitats in Nepal and educating local communities.
At Nature Planet, we believe that every team member's voice matters, and that collaboration and humor are essential to a great work environment. We pride ourselves on our ethics, innovations and our straight-talking, transparent approach to business.
As part of the Procuritas family, a leader in Nordic private equity, we benefit from a long-term, ethical investment philosophy. Our original founders remain co-owners, continuing their mission with the same passion that launched Nature Planet.
Our journey took a big step forward in 2021 when we expanded into North America through the acquisition of Wishpets (Portland) and Wildlife Artists (Connecticut). These two companies, known for their plush toy collections, share our values and have strengthened our presence in the tourism and attractions industry.
In 2023, the Nature Planet family grew even further with the acquisition of Cool Jewels (Hallandale), a US-based leader in fashion, trend and conservation jewelry with nearly five decades of industry experience.
We have our global headquarters in Middelfart, Denmark and regional Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Together, these partnerships have broadened our product offerings, boosted our purchasing power and empowered us to innovate at a higher level. Backed by a talented and passionate team of more than 200 employees globally, we remain driven by one shared vision: to make a difference.
